The Nurse Reviewer Consultant (NRC) is responsible for accurate and compliant charge capture through
the evaluation and appropriate maintenance of all ambulatory and acute clinical operational processes.
This role ensures all aspects of the charge master for assigned departments that successfully achieves
accurate and compliant with clinical guidelines, regulatory and billing requirements. NRC partners,
collaborates and oversees department reviews and charge audits by conducting targeted education based
on the charge capture needs for the success of the hospital. Oversees and manages exception-based audits,
coordinates and manages regular meetings and other interactions with all clinical areas. Adheres to
AdventHealth Corporate Compliance Plan and to rules and regulations of all applicable local, state and
federal agencies and accrediting bodies. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts
responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
Conducted all forms of Cardiac Stress Testing and provided cardiac education to these patients as well as the rest of the hospital in patients that had a cardiac history. I also helped out in the PSR area of the Cath Lab when needed, doing EKG's in the hospital when short staffed and applying Event Monitors to out patients. Assisted the Echo Techs for any bubble studies they needed done and or evaluating patient IV's while in their department.
Cardiac Research, Nuclear Stress Testing, Event Monitor applications, Holter Monitor application and scanning of these upon return for physicians to read. Arrhythmia Clinic for routine Pacemaker, Defibrillator testing and or reprogramming parameters. Also helped out in the Clinic locally and in satellite offices when needed. Went to the hospital to do Post Op teaching for new Cardiac Device Implants.
Prepared in and out patients for Cardiac Cath procedures as well as providing their post op care. This included starting IV's on the out patients, any shaving necessary for the procedure as well as and doing the proper documentation for the procedure, i.e. consent form. education about the procedure. Post Procedure required holding pressure on the insertion site in the groin area until the bleeding had stopped. On the Out Patients, we would be responsible to get them up and walk to ensure no issues with bleeding prior to discharge.
