Accomplishments

I started a Pen Pal Project entitled Operation S.A.V.E. which stands for Students and Veterans Engaging through Writing. This project matches a veteran, active duty, or anyone in the National Guard with a student. The pen pals correspond throughout the school year, and in some cases, the correspondence has continued over the course of years. Prior to the end of the school year, we have a Meet and Greet Luncheon where the students get to meet their pen pal face to face. This project has been showcased on the local news stations for the past 3 years and has also been showcased in Scholastic Magazine.
