•Assists in preparation of IV solutions, medication infusion equipment, invasive monitor fluid lines and transducers
•Performs laboratory tests for the Operating Room including blood gas analysis, activated clotting time, and thromboelastography.
•Assists anesthesia personnel in many intense complicated procedures including controlled and emergent airway management, establishing, and maintaining invasive monitoring, various medication infusion systems, positioning and transporting of unstable patients
•Recognizes abnormalities in patient responses to treatment or equipment function. Notifies team and troubleshoots cause of erroneous result
•Efficiently adjusts as necessary within realm of expertise to optimize immediate situation and informs appropriate personnel for follow up as needed
•Regularly assists clinicians with special assignments such as monitoring with full understanding and adherence to sterile technique through out of OR procedures from set-up to completion
•Works safely with hazardous materials using all safety equipment and procedures set forth by governing agencies protecting self and others
•Collects and documents all necessary statistics and quality control data as per VAPA policy, OSHA, JCAHO, NAFDA, and the American Pathologists Certification

•Assembled procedure kits for blocks, central lines, arterial lines, blood product infusions and fiber optic scopes. Set up pressure transducers by properly calibrating transducers and pressure nodules.
•Performed CPR in crisis situations under direction of doctor in charge until anesthesiologist arrived.
•Responsible for monitoring stock levels, conducting regular inventory counts, and ordering supplies as needed.
•Tracked inventory turnover, identified slow-moving or obsolete items, and took appropriate actions to optimize inventory levels.
