Creative writing has played a major part in my growth as a person and an academic individual. As English is my second language, creative writing helped me improved drastically in both my grammars and use of the language. I also developed researching skills because of creative writing due to my needs of my content being close to realistic and relatable as possible - meaning if I write a character who is working on a car engine, I research about the basics of car and engines and how they work and implement it in my writing. Creative writing also link to my love for reading and learning as much as  I can about the world, and it also humbles me in the sense that there is always something that I don't know and need to keep my mind open and flexible to change.
