- As a US Navy Mass Communication Specialist (MC), my duties consisted of photojournalism, news release, videography and video editing, graphic design, public affairs interactions with local media outlets, and social media management.
- In addition to my regular duties, I was also trained in shipboard damage control, a command CPR instructor, and chemical, biological and radiological (CBR-D) response.
- While in port, I also served an armed watch stander in support of ship security.
- I served for over four years aboard the amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6) before transferring to Littoral Combat Ship Squadron ONE as the assistant public affairs officer for over 3 years.
