As a Medical Technician at Retina Associates, my day-to-day work was built on a foundation of trust and confidentiality, strictly following HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy. This hands-on experience taught me that safeguarding sensitive information isn't just a rule—it's a fundamental responsibility to the people you serve. My studies in Criminal Justice and Forensic Psychology at Corban University have given me the theoretical framework for this, showing me how these same principles of ethics and procedure are the bedrock of our legal system.

I've learned to connect with people during vulnerable moments, whether it's calming an anxious patient before a procedure or simply listening to their concerns. That ability to interact with clarity and compassion in high-stress situations is a skill I'm eager to bring to the criminal justice field.
