  • My experience as an IAP has given me responsibilities such as: Supervise students in and out of the classroom during various activities. In this career path, I have had the opportunity of working with children of ages 3-4 years old. My responsibilities include and are not limited to working in groups, or one on one with a child. Also, I make sure their basic needs are met and that I am doing all I can to allow the child to reach their highest potential and grow intellectually.

Instructional Assistant Provider

Santa Ana Unified School District
11.2023 - 01.2024
  • My experience as an IAP has given me responsibilities such as: Supervise students in and out of the classroom during various after-school activities. I also maintain frequent and regular parent communication and support parent involvement, as well as attend staff meetings/planning/training sessions on a regular basis or as required. I perform related duties as assigned.

Behavior Technician & Parent Consultant

Jade Behavioral Consultants
11.2023 - 01.2024
  • My experience while working at Jade Behavior Consultant allowed me to use my ABA skills and training and put it into action. Some of my responsibilities involve the following: follow and implement behavioral intervention plans as designed under the mentorship of your Supervisor and BCBA, share input on the day-to-day operations of your client's program, track clients progress and growth, and educate families/caregivers on behavior interventions strategies.

Senior Social Worker II

Orange County Children and Family Social Services
02.2023 - 09.2023
  • This career allowed me to further develop my social skills and case management activities. Some of my responsibilities as a Senior Social Worker include writing comprehensive reports, such as Investigation, Detention, Jurisdictional/Dispositional, and Status Review Reports. I invested allegations of child abuse and neglect allegations. Another task included assessing the harm and risk of a child for neglect or abuse, as well as working closely with children and families ages from infant to 18 years old. I had to be prepared in case I was to testify in criminal, probate, family law, or juvenile court hearings. In addition, I worked closely with stakeholders such as: law enforcement, Health Care Agency, Probation, attorneys, community partners, medical professionals, therapists, and educators. This job allowed me to flourish in several personal areas and to be able to, while empathizing, be the investigator when assessing the child's safety. Also, I was able to provide the children, youths, parents, and families with services to help in their situations.

Instructional Assistant

Garden Grove School District
10.2019 - 02.2023
  • My experience has been working with children of a wide age range, from 4 to 12 years old. I have had the privilege of observing and analyzing how they change and how their lives affect them as they get older. My responsibilities and obligations include and are not limited to working one on one with students, making sure their basic needs are being met not only within their educational journey, but starting at home. I make small groups and teach, reinforce, talk to them, observe them. I make sure that they understand what they are learning and take into consideration where we need to pause, take breaks, or go slower. There are times when I must ask open-ended questions in order to analyze their situations. They have disabilities, so I make sure they feel safe and confident that they can succeed in life. I observe them and note when something is off, and I document and call (as a mandated reporter) when they do not look well, if they've been harmed, or threatened or simply do not feel safe.

Instructional Assistant

St Cecilia Catholic School
11.2017 - 10.2019
  • During my time in a private school, I had the honor of working with children of different age ranges, and not necessarily with disabilities, yet my responsibilities were the same. I assisted the children with their learning because I taught them different lessons of the day and focused on all subjects; I pulled out and pushed in the classroom as well. My duties involved observing and assessing. I was to make sure they succeeded and they, as well as their families, obtained the resources they needed, both at school for their education and at home. I supervised them as well and became a person they felt safe with and trusted. They talked to me and I would act depending on what was said and whether I considered it as a harm towards them.
