As an associate of Westin, I have the opportunity to transfer out into different areas and positions as needed. In my current position as a market service cashier, my responsibilities include:
- Greet and acknowledge guests
- Deliver outstanding guest service
- Resolve any guest issues or concerns in a friendly and timely manner
- Record orders and messages
- Accurately total and process guest food order purchases
- Use the point-of-sale system
- Collect payments
- Handle money
- Process credit and debit cards
- Make change and process gift vouchers
- Monitor inventory of supplies and food whilst replenishing as needed
- Assist with food preparation while abiding by health regulations and hygiene standards
- Maintain a clean workstation throughout the day
In addition, I currently take on shifts as a banquet server and a restaurant hostess. As a banquet server, my responsibilities include:
- Set up and break down of event functions
- Fold silverware
- Replenish buffet stations
- Deliver beverages to guests
- Buss tables
As a restaurant hostess, my responsibilities include:
- Create a welcoming first impression for guests
- Manage reservations using Open Table
- Pre-assign guests to tables ensuring efficient seating arrangements
- Arrange tables and chairs for guests with special requests
- Seat guests
- Communicate with servers to ensure a smooth service flow
For the 3 years before my position as a market service cashier, I’ve held the position as a room service cashier which responsibilities included much of the very same as a service cashier but primarily:
- Answer phone calls using proper etiquette
- Transfer calls to appropriate departments when necessary
- Respond to guest and manager emails
- Create and organize gift amenities
In June 2019, I became front of house associate of the month.
