• I shadowed an occupational therapist for students undergoing cancer treatment and observed how she would come up with interventions that would slowly regain strength. She would make small goals for patients to reach, and demonstrated a strong sense of empathy. Gained personal insight into the impacts of cancer on patients.

• I observed an occupational therapist in an inpatient rehab setting and witnessed how evaluations are conducted, treatment planning, and maximizing functional independence for patients. Developed a further understanding of the role of an OT to improve the quality of life in patients, to ensure greater quality of life, and not just physical improvements.

• Observed how the occupational therapist would have patients perform engaging activities, conduct the activities with her patients, and encourage me to join to see how the patient feels and if it is effective.
• Got to know patients on a personal level and incorporate their daily routines into activities.

• Took residents to occupational therapy sessions and would encourage residents to partake in activities and would participate in activities with them so they did not feel embarrassed or alone.
• Spoke to numerous occupational and physical therapist and got inspired by what they do. I would take residents back to their rooms once they are finished.

• Supervised and trained a team of sales associates. Trained them on catering to customer's specific needs, manage schedules, delegate issues within the team and with customers, and demonstrated problem solving and strong communication skills.
