My name is Vanessa Dodds, I will soon be finishing my service with the Army.
I was fortunate and had many opportunities to acquire a number of skills, I have learned the art of interpersonal communication skills, the ability to manage and train the people around me, my driving record is excellent.
I am starting my degree in Mortuary Science and would like to peruse an apprenticeship in the funeral business.
Cover Letter
Ms. Audrey Johnson, I am applying for the position of Funeral Assistant with Stewart Enterprises and I believe that I have what it takes to make a career in this industry.
While this may not be the most glamorous career path, it is a necessary one. Families need someone to take care of the details when faced with the death of a loved one and I have the ability to make this difficult time go as smoothly as possible.
I have excellent communication skills with the ability to follow instructions precisely to help make the funeral as stress-free for the family and friends of the deceased as possible. I also have outstanding people skills with the ability to interact with the bereaved family in a compassionate and professional manner. I understand how difficult this situation can be and I truly do sympathize but at the same time, I can stay focused on the job at hand.
I have the ability to assist with all duties from picking up the remains to arranging the casket for viewing. I can arrange the flowers, check for adequate seating, greet guests as they enter and leave the funeral home and provide directions as needed. I also have the ability to help organize the funeral procession and to take care of many of the details pertaining to the burial procedures.
I also understand that anything can happen at funerals and I have the ability to react quickly and help keep everyone calm if a medical emergency or some other problem arises. I have the attitude and skills to help make this sad and stressful time go a little smoother for the family by helping to make sure everything goes according to plan.
