Contacts referring clinicians and connects them to radiologists as needed; all requests will be tracked and validated for quality assurance
• Serves as telephone triage person for incoming calls to radiologists and transfers to appropriate service/individuals
• Acts as liaison for ED physicians needing to contact radiologist over lunch hour
• Acts as liaison to technologists needing to contact radiologist for a STAT read
• Responds to requests from radiologists when they need to contact hospital personnel (Central IT, Radiology IT, GE, etc.) regarding work equipment issues or study status issues (technologists) that prevent timely interpretation and creation of a report
• Investigates causes of problem studies and works to resolve issues with appropriate personnel
• Checks status of ED studies and contacts appropriate service for studies not read within 90 minutes
• Checks daily overdue signing report
• Serve as a liaison to the Emergency Department.
• Service the ED with providing one number and one main person to interface with on a regular basis
• The incumbent would work closely with reading Radiologist to expedite the interpretation and documentation of the read for the ED in the form of an exam note or formal report

• Troubleshoots problem reports so that they are correctly assigned
• Sends reminder to radiologists with overdue unsigned reports
• Checks daily radiation dose compliance report
• Contacts physicians with noncompliant reports and ensures reports are corrected
• Tracks activities, including time spent contacting referring clinicians, number of interruptions, and number of problems resolved, to assess impact on the department.
• Performs an inventory of the radiologists' workstation environment and provides quality assurance
• Cleans the PACS monitor with screen cleaner
• Ensures that the reading rooms are clean (desk tops, trash bins, carpets, etc.) and involves appropriate manager for escalation as necessary
• Ensures that all ancillary support equipment is working properly and involves the appropriate manager for escalation and resolution
• De-identifies images for QA conferences
• Assesses radiologist workspace in the reading room and procures office supplies as necessary
• Prepared monthly report based Reading room call log
• Provides feedback to supervisor as to how reading room assistant activities could further improve radiologist workflow and service quality
• Create performance appraisal and competencies/annual requirements (Healthstream, etc.) on time
• Actively participate in attaining professional goals
• Provide recommendations to Stanford Radiology Leadership regarding suggestions on improving reading room workflow
