Veselin Vankov

As a team lead of software development at Paycom, I work with the developers on my team and on other teams in my module to ensure the release of new products that will be utilized by our clients. In addition to managing the releases of new products, I also mentor and assist my developers as they continue their careers and always encourage them to collaborate and succeed together while also instilling in them a sense of responsibility, ownership in their work, and leadership as they become more independent, self reliant, and hopefully go on to lead their own development teams. I also continue to contribute my own develop to the new product as well as assist in resolving bugs, maintenances, and researching anything that might be impacting our clients from a code perspective. Recently my role has also included managing our quality assurance analysts as well as assisting our developers in improving their own testing abilities in order to deliver a higher quality product to our clients. Finally my role involves collaborating with out product depart to clarify upcoming development specs to make sure we are tackling the right problems for our clients.

As a software developer at Paycom, I work on developing new functionality and updating existing functionality for the background checks module that is utilized by clients who use our product. In addition to developing software, 1 collaborate as part of an AGILE team to make sure that the work that we plan on accomplishing is well thought out and clear in its intent for what new benefits our development will bring to our users. I also participate in ensuring that our code is tested and work with our quality assurance team members to verify our code goes out with as few problems as possible.

As a software engineer at Howell Instruments, I worked on developing real time embedded operating systems for various testing and monitoring equipment that is utilized by our partners in the aerospace field. In addition to the applications that run and operate the hardware itself, I also worked on developing ground station applications which interact with the hardware in order to download or diagnose data acquired during operation. Finally, I along with my team tested to meet as high as DAL A FAA certification for the hardware our company designs and manufactures.
