As a member of the Student Council, I have gained much experience in communication, leveling with others, and improving my soft skills. I have been able to participate, attend, and organize several events regarding my school. The Student Council has taught me to be responsible, respectful, and a student who can represent our school. The Student Council has allowed me to grow as a person and gain experience by involving myself with different communities, activities, and people. The relationships I have created throughout my time as a Student Council member have allowed me to leverage my active listening skills, my ability to empathize with others, and have formed a sense of community with those around me. The Student Council has also motivated me to be a responsible person and to always push myself to achieve the best I can in school, as well as outside of school.
As a member of the Multicultural Club at my school, I have been able to connect with several people and have allowed myself to keep an open mind with myself and those around me. Being a member of the Multicultural club has allowed me to make connections with several different, diverse people who have different perspectives and ideas from mine. I also hold the position of Secretary of the Multicultural Club, which has allowed me to gain experience being responsible and organized with myself. Being the Secretary keeps me disciplined, and as Secretary, I must always maintain a professional, but friendly, attitude with the members of the club. Another vital role of being a secretary is that I must organize meetings and help the Vice President and President organize and create ideas for future, upcoming events.
Attending the Superintendent Interview Meeting allowed me to meet with other professionals from several different schools in my district. This project was meant to fill the role of superintendent at our school district, which allowed for a group of kids, including myself, to meet up with each other and other adults to discuss the future of the superintendent role. I met with principals and other students, and discussed different ideas, topics, and qualifications we would need to look for in our candidates. After agreeing and completing our form of questions, we eventually moved into the interview process, where we all interviewed several different candidates, and our feedback was taken into consideration and put into the school board.
