  • It was a pipeline company out of Artesia, and our function was to complete pipelines and to do water pits for the company.
  • While working there, I learned how to operate the backhoe and a dozer, which we used to clear the way to where the pipeline would eventually be laid out.
  • The lines were made out of poly, and we used a fusing machine to fuse the pipe together, creating some sort of weld through heat.
  • Used side booms to pull the pipe joints after each fuse. We also made a lot of repairs in line leaks. We would repair them, ranging from fresh water to produce water.

  • Learned how to weld there. Also, a lot of the repairs would have to be welded back together.
  • Used the shovel and pick sometimes to dig if there were live lines, and the backhoe was not permitted.
  • Assisted with the installation of pipelines by using various tools and equipment such as shovels, backhoes, and augers.
  • Replaced corroded pipes with new ones as part of regular maintenance activities.
