Boilermaker, 08/04/16, 1, Supervisor, Non-Exempt, Works alone or as a member of a crew to assemble and disassemble, construct and repair boilers, tanks, vats, pressure vessels, exchangers, towers, and heaters according to blueprint specifications., Interprets plot plans, structural drawings, elevation drawings, as-built drawings, equipment arrangement drawings, P&IDs, isometric drawings, spool sheets, and detail sheets., Installs and removes various types of flanges, valves and actuators along with their components (bolts, nuts, gaskets, etc)., Inspects, tests, plugs, and replaces boiler tubes., Performs service, flow, head pressure, hydrostatic, and steam blow tests on piping systems and equipment., Inspects, maintains and replaces pipe hangers, supports, and spring can supports., Constructs and maintains towers, exchangers, vessels, and boilers., Attaches rigging and signal crane or hoist operators to lift heavy frames, plate sections, pipes, valves, or other parts into place., Minimum of 1 year experience performing related duties.,Must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings or blueprints and be able to utilize them to identify and assemble internal tower equipment, take measurements and make calculations., Heavy physical effort required including pulling and lifting or moving heavy weight material with frequent lifting and/or moving of materials or equipment (over 80 pounds)., Requires the ability to continuously work around any or all of the following: noise, dust, heat, cold, solvents, fumes and heavy equipment., Requires working in outdoor weather conditions., Requires constant standing, sitting, bending, crouching, walking, pulling, pushing, reaching, kneeling., Must be willing to work flexible hours, including weekends and/or evenings as necessary (based on project demands)., Requires frequently working in confined spaces., Requires working at all heights., Requires climbing up and down ladders, scaffolds and other objects., I understand a conditional offer of employment is being made to me contingent upon the satisfactory outcomes of pre-employment physical, drug test, training and all other onboarding processes required by GIS., I understand that my employment with GIS is voluntary and is subject to termination by myself or GIS at will, with or without cause or notice and no policy or any other written or oral representation may alter the at-will status of my employment., I agree to comply with all corporate policies, laws, rules, and regulations relating to my position.
