Summary

Dedicated Paraeducator with 18 years of comprehensive experience offering extra level of support and guidance to students both inside and outside classroom settings. Patient and kind professional skillful in working one-on-one with students to answer questions to reinforce concepts taught in classroom as well as working with groups. Exceptional communicator knowledgeable in most subject area's, particularly Health enhancement (Bachelors) and industrial arts. I have worked with a number of students in the industrial arts classrooms at Big Sky High School over the years and have experience with the curriculum. Having both learned the curriculum side by side with my students, and then assisted them in mastering the information despite which ever challenges their particular disability creates. Having experience on both the learner and teaching side of the curriculum has given me a great insight into explaining concepts in ways that are easy to grasp.

Additional Information

I am a native Montanan and have lived in the Missoula area for the last 25 years. I have a love for teaching and love sharing my passions with others and watching them develop the skills to do things on their own. I have been employed with Missoula County public schools from the time I graduated U of M as a substitute teacher between my mountain guiding seasons. I transitioned to a Para Educator in life skills in the early 2000's and have stayed in that role ever since. I love what I do, the community of educators and professionals I work with at Big Sky High School, the students I work with, and all that Missoula has to offer. I am looking to grow and challenge myself by using my experience to branch out into a different position with new roles and responsibilities. My knowledge base, experience and current connections to staff in the industrial arts department make me well qualified to take on this role.
