While working at Westside Animal Hospital as a veterinary technician assistant I was responsible for many duties. This included providing quality animal health care. In order to do this I am responsible for relaying accurate medical history efficiently to the DVMs and also educating pet owners. As a vet tech assistant I am confident in my ability to collect samples for diagnostics. This includes proper animal restraint, performing blood draws, taking radiographs, processing cytologies, and running in-house laboratory tests. A skill that I have that contributes to my success is my attention to detail. This is important as it ensuring accuracy in vital signs, treatment, and records. Maintained cleanliness of surgical instruments and examination areas to uphold safety standards. While working in the operating room I am able to maintain sterility and am comfortable monitoring patients under anesthesia. I have also trained new staff on the skills needed to become a quality vet tech assistant. At this two doctor practice it is critical that I continue to time manage appropriately and preform efficiently in emergency situations.

• As a veterinary assistant at The Pet Clinic I would work in various positions throughout the clinic to ensure that the shifts flowed as seamlessly as possible. To aid in doing this I worked as a receptionist, answering the phone, responding to email, and scheduling appointments. In addition I would charge out appointments, go over medications when needed at the end of visits, and answer any questions that the client had to help them best take care of their pets. During my shifts that I was not working at the front desk I would bring in the patients while getting vitals as well as an assessment of the pets general health and reason for visit. When needed I would collect the appropriate samples from the pets for the DVM or to send out to the lab. During appointments I would properly restrain the animal so that the DVM would be able to accurately assess the patient while maintaining the safety everyone in the exam room. At the end of the visits I would dispense and go over any medications for the client. At the clinic we would perform a variety of surgeries where I was responsible for monitoring the vitals of the patient while they were under anesthesia and informing the DVM of any changes in the patients condition. At the clinic it was important to be able to communicate with the clients about preventative health care as well as educating them on how to best care for their individual pet as every person and pets needs can vary.

• While working at Island Brew Coffee house I was responsible for taking orders, making food and drinks, as well as keeping the shop clean. This job requires a positive attitude, good communication with both the customers and my coworkers, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. As the shift lead I am responsible for making sure that the register is counted before shifts, inventory is taken, and delegate tasks that need to be accomplished by the end of the shift.

• I started working at Paradise in November 2016 as a hostess, moved up to a busser, and then a server. By working hard, communicating well, and being reliable I was able to advance in positions in the restaurant. I have learned a lot from this job about working with the general public to make sure customers are happy with their service. I maintained the restaurant so it stayed tidy, stocked, and prepped for my fellow coworkers. As a server I placed orders, ran food and drink, and made sure all guests that came into the restaurant had an enjoyable experience by greeting them in a timely manner and being attentive.

• At Capitola Veterinary Hospital I worked as a customer service representative (CSR). At the clinic I answered phone calls to answer any questions customers had, scheduled appointments, filled prescriptions, kept the clinic clean, and sold pet products. From this job I learned how to communicate professionally and work with people during sensitive times financially and emotionally.
