Cashier/ Pricechanger
At Home Store
03.2022 - Current
I love to work in Customer Service. As a Cashier, Talking and listening to customers so they can find the right thing makes me joyful. I love being a smiling face to someone who my be having a rough time and brightening their day. So cashiering comes very easy to me. I want everyone who visits the store to leave happy with their decorating decisions. As soon as I get to the store in the morning, I clean all of the registers and sweep the floors. I tackle restocking and price changing merchandise that the warehouse team brings up front. I also process refunds and exchanges.
As a price changer, I was detail oriented in making sure that the correct price was on the correct merchandise. I was also responsible for making sure that the isles were straightened and appealing to our customers.
Event Specialist
CROSSMARK-TASTE AND TIPS
09.2021 - Current
As an event specialist, Customer interaction is paramount. We prep our food samples before we go into the floor. This often involves cooking different types of food. When we get to our stations, we are responsible for customer interaction by handing out samples to the shoppers and answering questions about the product like prices, location in the store, and cooking tips. We also are often asked where other merchandise is inside the store. We get to know the customers, and the Sam’s Club staff.
Assistant Manager
Dollar Tree
05.2021 - 09.2021
General customer service, cashiering, merchandising and stocking. I’m also responsible for opening and closing the store, coaching and counseling employees. Asset protection, mark downs, inventory, and receiving shipments are all parts of my job. I was also responsible for filing paperwork, other clerical work, and auditing other employees.
Lead Teacher
La Petite
02.2020 - 04.2021
I was the Lead Teacher of Early Preschool. I have been working with children for 15 years. My responsibilities include developing lesson plans and behaviors support plans, creating educational files, and parent/teacher conferences. It was my responsibility to decorate my classroom and make it a rich, inviting space. It was important to make the classroom functional and well as bright and cheery. I like to keep examples of all of the children’s work on the walls to give them a sense of ownership in our class. I also developed relationships with the families by sending them daily messages about what we had learned, or talked about that day. Since the outbreak of Covid-19, it was next to impossible to have in-person parent teacher conferences, so I sent notes home to keep the parents involved in our learning environment.
Teacher
OACAC Head Start
08.2005 - 02.2020
I was in charge of 15-20 children per day. My job consisted of teaching pre academics to kids ages 3-5. I tried to focus on the social emotional side of learning...due to most of the children enrolled were experiencing some sort of poverty. We have also had children who were also experiencing/ witnessing some sort of domestic violence. I always wanted to create a safe place who they could experience security and consistency. My duties included creating lesson plans, attending IEP meetings, and setting up a child centered classroom. I was also in charge of the filing and most of the clerical work for my classroom teacher team. We would track the children’s assessments four times a year, so we could see how much the kids had learned over the school year.
I also would look for community resources for families as they may be struggling with money, shelter, food, or medical necessities. I started with Head Start as a parent volunteer ( all three of my children were Head Start Kids). Head Start was essential in me being able to finish my AA degree.

Additional Information
I enjoy filing and office work. There is something to be said about the calm the comes from making sure that there is a place for everything, and everything is it’s place.
During my time with Head Start, I was very active with Community Engagement. I am good at getting donations and people to come volunteer at our center.
I have lots of experience with administering First Aid. My husband has Psychogenic Non Epileptic Seizure Disorder. ( PNES), so observation and record keeping of his symptoms has become a part of our lives.
