Summary

I am an ASHA-certified Speech-Language Pathologist with a passion and drive to improve my students' communication skills and support their academic success, while also educating and supporting the families I work with in continuing to improve their quality of life outside of the therapy room. I have experience working with school-age populations in both clinical and public school settings, which has given me opportunities in assessing, diagnosing, and treating diverse communication disorders while managing IEP mandates and SESIS compliance. This environment has taught me how to collaborate closely with classroom teachers and related service providers to form individualized approaches that align with grade-level standards and best fit the specific needs of my students. In addition to communicating with other school professionals, forming strong relationships with the families of my students has been central to my approach. In developing treatment plans, I believe it is essential to look at the child as a whole, incorporating evidence-based frameworks, such as Story Champs, the Expanding Expression Tool (EET), and The Writing Revolution, and considering how a client's behaviors and decisions may be guided by their cultural values and beliefs. By forming relationships with these family members and educators, I develop a better understanding of how to treat my student, ensuring I give them the tools they need for functional communication both in the classroom and beyond.
