Volunteer Experience

Volunteer in Nyakach, Kenya | Straw to Bread - Sondu, Kenya | 05/2024 - 05/2024

  • Volunteered for two weeks with the non-profit organization Straw to Bread to work alongside people of every age in Kisumu County, Kenya, on the Nyakach Plateau.
  • Helped aid 1,200+ patients in the Bethlehem Home Hospital with varying degrees of illnesses.
  • Helped implement a drip irrigation system in the 47th garden in the area.
  • Distributed 470 water filters to the community and provided instructions on how to use them.
  • Promote teacher appreciation, as well as the promotion of education in general in the local schools.
  • Distribution of period products to young girls in various schools around the area, as well as instruction on proper use.
