My skills have been varied but have provided me with lots of interesting jobs during various periods of my life. My most difficult and challenging position was as mother's caregiver. I promised to honor her wishes and not place her in a nursing home, and for 8 years, until her death, that was my sole responsibility.
My position with Acosta was a stepping stone back into the Job market after my mother's death. I worked every day on my own enhancing the products for Procter and Gamble in the Walmart and Sam's Club stores.
My job as a crossing job was very rewarding in providing safety to elementary students and their parents, to and from school each day.
Since the crossing guard position, I have been retired and caring for and supporting my husband with his job in the Roaring Fork Valley,
For many years I worked retail in fashion and high-end antiques. Exposure to retail affords lots of contact with the public and great success with those times in my career.
mornings and afternoons.
My mother was unable to live on her own or care properly for herself. She exhibited signs of dementia, quit walking and at one point, stopped talking. Earlier, after my father's stroke, she asked that my bother or I, not put her in a nursing home if and when the time came that she needed additional care. My brother died in 2004 from a massive heart attack. Therefore, care of my mother fell on "my shoulders" and I honored her request.
