Faith Academy, Canaanland, Ota, Nigeria, a Faith-based Christian School, is part of a large Christian School System owned and operated by the Living Faith Worldwide International (LFCWI) in Nigeria. The School System is the largest in Nigeria's private sector, and directly overseen and managed by the Education Commission (https://eclfcww.org) of the LFCWI. The system has 28 High Schools (i.e., the US equivalence of a Middle and a High school, combined within each High School, 7th-12th Grade), and over 200 Elementary Schools (US equivalence of 1st to 6th Grade). The 2022-2023 Academic year current enrollment data shows a total of 239,805 students in the LFCWI School System.

As Vice-Principal Academic Affairs, I have direct oversight of all academic matters of the school, directly responsible for 1,972 students who are mostly residential boarding-school dormitories, supervise and provide leadership for more than 300 Teaching and non-Teaching staff.

I hold a primary faculty appointment as a Teacher in my areas of expertise. Even though I have administrative roles, I still have teaching assignments in addition.

  • Teaches Computer Education (Junior School Level - 6th-8th Grade) and Computer Studies/ICT (Senior School Level - 9th-12th Grade) as subjects in school’s curriculum recording nothing less than 98 and 100% Distinction pass rates respectively, while maintaining academic rigor.
  • Trained and developed students' skills in word-processing, spreadsheet and database programs
  • Used lectures, demonstrations and discussions to instruct students individually and in small groups
  • Tested and evaluated student progress to determine effectiveness and impact of teaching methods, materials and projects

In January 2021, during the few weeks of transition, the incumbent Principal was redeployed by the Education Commission to another school within the School System, I was appointed Interim Principal until the arrival of a new Principal.

As Interim Principal:

  • Fully responsible for successful relocation of school from old campus of 22 years, to its permanent location on a new campus.
  • Was responsible for day-to-day administration and management of both human and other resources of the school, maintaining standards and high quality operational activities by implementing and ensuring compliance to approved Faith Academy Schools curriculum without prejudice to the provisions in the National policy on Education, Ensuring a good and conducive ambiance for teaching and learning in the school, making recommendations to the Faith Academy Governing Council (FAGC) on manpower requirement and appointment of school Officials such as Vice Principal(s), Sectional Heads, Members of School Committees, etc.
  • Served as member of the Search Committee for hiring new faculty and staff for the school
  • Secretary of Faith Academy Governing Council
  • Serves as a signatories to School's fiscal/banking accounts
  • Serves on Board of Parents Teachers Association
  • Prepares and submits to the Education Commission (EC) through the FAGC for approval, list of instructional materials required for the school, as well as directing and overseeing the purchase of approved materials, ensuring compliance with guidelines as approved by the FAGC
  • Controlled and ensured judicious use of the imprest account (including petty cash) and all school funds within approved budgetary limits
  • Served as liaison officer between the FAGC and Parents, the State or Local Education Authority and other Statutory Educational jurisdiction
  • Made recommendations on all disciplinary cases involving faculty, staff and students to the FAGC for adjudication and forwarding same to the EC for approval
  • Facilitated Registrations of the school for Junior and Senior certificate courses with local, State, Regional, National and International Examination Bodies, such as, NECO, JSCE and UTME, WAEC, and NECO

  • Chairperson, Creativity & Entrepreneurship Exploits Programme (CEEP) Committee (2018 to 2020): In charge of coordinating the activities of the CEEP committee, Student body and fielding them for skills acquisition trainings, intra, inter, regional and national CEEP programs and competitions, among other such activities that engenders and exhibit the creativity in the Students
