Materials Services Supervisor

  • Served on the migration team for CCS and implemented a comprehensive training program for the migration to the new Integrated Library System, Polaris.
  • Created a new workflow for Materials Services Department's Acquisitions process, including implementing EDI (electronic data exchange) with our primary vendors. This implementation markedly increased efficiency.
  • Conceived, planned, and executed Library-wide programming, including two large scale, highly attended Fandom Fests.
  • Supervises the Continuous Book Sale volunteers which generates funds for the operating budget.
  • Manages the removal of withdrawn materials from the library collection for resale or recycling.
  • Oversees the ordering, receiving, cataloging, processing, inputting, and withdrawal of all the Library's physical collection materials.
  • Tracks departmental material budgets and send out monthly reports of percentages spent.
  • Executes the fiscal year rollover of the expenditures for the materials budget. Prepares the funds for materials spending for the new fiscal year.
  • Oversees and executed the periodical renewal process for all department collections.
  • Serves as alternative FOIA Officer.
  • Serves as Chair for the Display & Art Committee. Including cultivating artist participation, physically installing and uninstalling the exhibits, working with PR and Marketing to create appropriate signage, information on the website, and quarterly newsletter. Plans and executes art exhibit receptions for patron participation.
  • Works collaboratively, with Administration, supervisors, Library Board considering input from all stakeholders to develop our most recent strategic plan.
  • Plans and executes programming, activities, and professional development opportunities for multiple, library-wide staff days.
