Developing a model pedicle screw for spinal fixation device (Project won several awards)

• Designed a 3D model of the pedicle screw using SOLIDWORKS to provide a higher load bearing capacity on the device with a unique feature,an adjustable inner diameter that allows insertion of varying sizes of the pedicle rods for the use of different age groups of patients .
• Performed a stress analysis test on the 3D model by simulating a static study using SOLIDWORKS.
• Built a 3D printed prototype of the design and manually tested the performance of key functionalities.

Demonstrated hand rehabilitation using a soft robotic glove

• Utilized LEAP Motion Capture sensor and five flex sensors to determine the threshold angle of rotation for each finger of the soft robotic glove using Arduino software and MATLAB Simulink.
• Demonstrated the functionality of soft robotic glove for rehabilitation using the master slave control system with the feedback gained from MATLAB Simulink.

Determining cellular traction forces using Traction Force Microscopy

• Demonstrated a method to localize fluorescent microspheres near the cell culture surface for Traction Force Microscopy.
• Used FIJI software to gain displacement and traction force vector plots to analyze mechanical profile behind cell generated diseases.

Led the team for capstone project which won following awards at 'Engineering Open house 2021' at Wichita State University.
