Summary

Starting off as a manager in a tropical pet store and nature was my passion. Of course, life pulled us down many paths. Did all sorts of construction as a carpenter and built airports, prison and even a Coca Cola factory in Atlanta. But, the passion kept pulling to something special. Returned to school to be a nurse and found myself in a surgical technologist position. There are no regrets because the soul is fulfilled when I am in surgery, and working on the ultimate beings that nature created. I love people and I believe that is what makes the best surgical tech. Caring for all the people we work with and absolutely loving the patients. Surgery is a team sport, so I am dependable, patient, humble and caring to fellow scrubs and nurses. Being tough, listening well, anticipation, humor and understanding are some of my character traits, and I feel that is why the doctors love me. I am a Surgical Technologist, I can do Neuro, Ortho, General, GYN, Urology, Robotics, Endovascular, Vascular, ENT, Eyes, Plastic, Podiatry, Hands, and Sterile Processing. Always wanting the best outcome for the patients and a mission complete.

Accomplishments

I became the neuro coordinator at Piedmont Eastside Medical. It is something I am extremely proud of and I was able to build the OR neuro system around and with my Doctor and friend, Dr. Michael Stechison. I was able to earn the respect and friendship of all the neuro surgeons that came to my facility. When the OR is pleasurable and all the equipment is available and on the field when needed right away. The procedure ends with a lot of smiles and appreciations. Additionally, When our facility purchased the Mako Robot, I was the surgical tech that the ortho surgeons chose to train with on the cadavers. That experience was amazing and the comradery was electrifying. I felt blessed to be there and learn it together with all the different groups of ortho surgeons.
