Provide patient care by carrying out policies and procedures within scope of practice in the pediatric population.
Conducts a comprehensive assessment of pediatric patients from newborn to twenty years old.
Provide care to patients and families as individuals in their role as a new parent(s) and provide teaching and referrals as needed.
Collect health history, including present illness, medications, allergies, vaccination status, as well as past medical, psychological, spiritual, and family history.
Conduct initial assessment; triage pediatric and prioritize infants that comes in respiratory distress. Obtain vital signs and health information that can help provider in treatment plan.
Organized and managed care of patients in subspecialty clinics that are going for various therapy and procedures.
· Prioritize pediatric patients that present to Same Day Clinic in respiratory distress or other health conditions that require immediate attention and involve pediatrician on duty to evaluate patients for sooner treatments.
· Include: Prepare and conduct daily Briefs to providers and staffs to ensure teamwork and shared mental model.
· Delegate task to other healthcare team members according to their scope of practice and follow up within the completion of tasks.
· Monitor Patients in respiratory distress that require immediate assessment, treatment and intervention in transferring to the emergency room or higher level of care.
· Collaborated with physicians to immediately assess patients and deliver appropriate treatment while monitoring any changing conditions.
· Provide treatments such as respiratory treatment, allergy reaction, IV insertion for hydration, IV antibiotic treatment, blood drawn, and ED transfers for further care or admission to pediatric floor.
· Monitor Same Day Clinic Flow; follow up newborn checkups, weight check return appointments and two weeks checks.
· Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on different specialty clinics, organize and monitor specialty referrals.
· Monitor Genetic clinic referrals; organized and arrange clinic follow ups for test results.
· Collect blood sample via heel stick for bilirubin checks, blood cultures, urine sample via foley catheter in and out and ear irrigations.
· Educate families and caregivers on diagnosis and prognosis, treatment and disease process and management.
