I strongly believe that a student centered approach is the best method for teaching students. I focus on individual student needs and a student centered curriculum is my preferred mode of instruction. Teaching being a profession and most importantly a vocation, it is essential to inculcate other values alongside lessons. Classroom interaction presents an opportunity for the teacher to have a personal touch to the individual student’s growth and holistic formation and as such, I take such chances to inculcate life skills and socially acceptable values in the minds of my learners. Social studies as a subject should moreover teach us how past actions have dictated present situations and then give us the freedom to choose an appropriate course of action in order to prevent future misfortunes. I also value the importance of extra curriculum activities to both the learner and the teacher as it gives the mind time to relax, focus and build positive energy.
