  • As a member of the Executive protection detail for the Secretary and Deputy Secretary for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, duties I provided were advanced movement and planning to ensure all details were in place before movement. Coordinating with federal, state, and local law enforcement authorities in the prospective jurisdictions to ensure adequate law enforcement was available along with route planning, conducting threat assessments in the areas where travel would take place to ensure a safe and secure environment were established. Ensuring last-minute details or changes were addressed before arrival to ensure a smooth transition. Upon arrival of the Secretary/Deputy Secretary and during the movement of the mission I assumed and participated in several different roles as the advance vehicle team, principal vehicle, and chase vehicle teams. While on location I would provide close protection of the Secretary/Deputy Secretary to ensure their safety and provide a safe and secure environment for them to conduct their mission.
  • Serve as designated liaison, subject matter expert and consultant with federal law enforcement agencies such as the VA, Office of the Inspector General-Criminal Investigation Division (OIG-CID), F.B.I., D.E.A., A.T.F., Secret Service, State Police, and local law enforcement agencies.

  • Part of a highly trained Embassy Security Force assigned to Afghanistan in a high threat environment. Provided personal protection of Ambassador's, and senior level staff at their living quarters, and at the embassy daily. Provided close protection during movements in the country and abroad. Cordinated with representatives of other services during support operations. Performed special duties as assigned by supervisor. Duties were to protect life and property. Prevent unauthorized access. Maintain order and deter criminal activity in and around the U.S. Mission. To deter against unauthorized, illegal, or potential life-threatening activities directed toward subcontractors, visitors, sensitive information, and properties in and around the Embassy. Prevent terrorist attacks, assassination attempts, theft of property and/or classified materials. Trained in and capable of responding as a quick reaction force team member operating specialized weapons, security systems, and equipment capable of responding to various threats. Assisted with special functions such as Congressional Delegations, VIP visits high ranking officials in U.S. and foreign Governments. While conducting convoy movements of personnel I was assigned as the vehicle commander. Supervised armed personnel security details daily, transporting personnel by vehicle, moving from locations of living to and from the embassy, and other locations for required events. Provided personal protection of Ambassador's, and senior level staff. Coordinated with local authorities, local police, other country police forces, and U.S. and other country military forces.

  • As an NCO squad leader. I managed a team of 12. Was assigned to the Personnel protection detail of high-level flag staff officials and the safeguarding of highly classified materials and equipment while traveling worldwide. This would include sea and shore movements by means of ships, air and vehicle in high threat areas of operation. Supervised the team’s training, created training scenarios, supervised training evaluations and the team’s physical training management program. Other duties included the management of all administrative issues concerning my Staff members including duty assignments ensuring that policies and procedures were followed. While assigned to a United States Navy my duties as a Supervising Corporal of the Guard entailed managing a 15-man security force. Part of my duties consisted of access control to special weapons storage sites and access control areas. Managed and planned all pre-positioning and placement of personnel during high security situations or alerts or movements. In absence of the Platoon Sergeant, responsibilities included daily operations management of 30-plus Marines.
