As an ICU RN, I fully took responsibility for the care of critical patients. I took care of patients who required 1:1 care, such as trauma patients with ventricular drains. In addition, patients with continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT), post-operative CABG patients, and patients who are on balloon pumps. In some cases, patients who needed to be transferred to another facility with an IABP, I traveled with the patient as well.

When in need, I am a resource nurse for all three units. I assist with all the quality metrics checks when needed. I also precept new hires and nursing students. I take full responsibility for carrying out anything that is new to the ICU unit, for example, the SMART mobility program.

I have been resuming the rapid response nurse role as well.
