Job Responsibilities as Primary Nurse

• Recognizes, reports, documents and seeks appropriate intervention for signs and symptoms of complications or changes in patient status.
• Administers, titrates critical drips and medicines following the Five Rights of Medication Administration and according to the hospital protocol.
• Accurately perform and document patient assessment and properly identify patient's needs.
• Proficiently operates medical equipment in ICU within the scope of nursing practice.
• Assists doctors on the following procedures: central line placement, thoracentesis, thoracotomy, cardioversion, inubation, bronchoscopy etc.
• Monitors patient on ventilator and works with the hospital respiratory therapist in airway management and ventilatory setting changes.
• Performs venipuncture and adheres to IV administration policy.
• Communicates and documents patient/family education regarding equipment, nutrition and diet, safe and effective use of medication, therapy and post hospital care.

Job Responsibilities as Charge Nurse

• Acts as a team leader in hospital wide Rapid Response and Emergency Resuscitation effort in the absence of doctor.

Job Responsibilities as Nursing Assistant

• Provides for activities of daily living by assisting with serving meals, feeding patients as necessary and ambulating, turning, and positioning patients; and providing fresh water and nourishment between meals.
• Provides adjunct care by administering enemas, douches, non-sterile dressings, surgical preps, ice packs, heat treatments, sitz and therapeutic baths; and applying restraints.
