  • Research Assistant for Jesse Jenkins’ ZERO Lab/REPEAT net zero evaluation project leading a review of the impact of IRA subsidies on the deployment of renewables
  • Modelled 2030 renewable capacity additions and investment in utility-scale solar PV, wind (onshore and offshore), battery storage, nuclear, as well as hydrogen and CCS deployment in partnership with MIT’s Clean Investment Monitor, Rhodium Group, and BloombergNEF
  • Conducted techno-economic analysis of utility-scale renewables (solar PV, wind, storage, and geothermal assets) using DCF/LCOE, as well as peaker plants and gas + CCS
  • Using techno-economic analysis, assessed LCOE at which enhanced geothermal can scale to displace peaker plants
  • Assessed offtake models for EGS with flexible generation methods (geothermal LDES, multi-purpose heat)
  • Conducted an in-depth review of Texas’ ERCOT and the potential for a post-Storm Uri capacity market. Examined wholesale and retail markets, transmission constraints, regulatory and legislative bottlenecks

  • Co-led design of the UK-wide Net Zero Blended Finance Project, working with investors and industry to develop a response to the US’ IRA and mobilize £100B in investment
  • Led development of new blended finance measures – Contracts for Difference, first loss capital, tax credits, loan guarantees – to de-risk and grow NbS investment to £1B
  • Led reform of Government’s rate of return regulation to include NbS and increase investment by an estimated £200 million by 2030
  • Defra lead on HMG Green Bonds financing program worth £3.8 billion: use-of-proceeds framework, impact measurement, and reporting across the ministry

Served as lead advisor for USD 100 million portfolio of 48 projects, 16 countries spanning climate finance and sustainable development, including strategic engagement with OECD/EMDE governments, DFIs, and MDBs. Secured over USD 30 million in additional financing during my tenure

  • Mobilized USD 100 million over five years in mitigation and adaptation financing for Kenya’s arid north with Kenyan Government, World Bank and USAID to strengthen
  • Led development of climate-smart insurance, lending and climate de-risking products for over 500,000 Kenyan farmers with Government of Kenya regulators, mPesa, and Equity Bank. Successfully secured regulatory reform
  • Co-designed, with Government of Nigeria and USAID, a $10 million climate finance pilot for a regional safety net in Yobe State to climate-proof social policy
  • Directed a USD 3.5 million research agenda focused on sustainable development and resilience, including as Principal Investigator for USD 2 million RCT in Iraq

  • Designed and launched 4 job centers offering seed capital and loan guarantees to over 1,200 drought-affected, displaced Iraqis to support economic recovery, climate resilience, and poverty reduction
  • Led strategic engagement with US, UK and EU donor governments, the World Bank, Iraqi regional and federal authorities
  • Partnered with World Bank and Government of Iraq to develop a novel linkage between government and NGO/UN social programs and expand public services to over 250,000 people
  • Received a commendation from the Iraqi Minister for Labor and Social Affairs for contributions to Iraq's post-war recovery efforts

Managed entire portfolio of food security and economic recovery-focused research, designing methods and surveys, leading analysis, and managing over 80 staff, USD 2 million, and 6 research projects

  • Designed and led two censuses of Za’atari refugee camp in Jordan, leading to polio immunization campaign which reached 20,000 at-risk children, and informed planning for a water supply system to the camp
  • Led a coordinated census of nine Syrian refugee camps across Iraq to inform the United Nations’ shift to targeted food assistance, informing delivery of over USD 80 million in assistance to over 60,000 refugees
  • Designed and managed a large-scale survey of 4,200 households in earthquake-affected areas of Nepal to inform recovery policy
