Invented the pool system for moving parts. Have a pool shift with finished parts. The PMI rolled his carbon and just like shopping loaded the parts needed for build. The Rotor had times and cycles. These were scheduled buy another area outside of mine. The pool system could also be used for repair engines
I would daily monitor my pool shelf that was labeled by myself to keep the supply and demand flowing smoothly. With the pool system. We went from disassembly to final in half the time. I was recognized with the Excellent Award and was honored in a sit down dinner with the other delegates across the system that implemented better work flow. Next I worked with a computer programmer. I explained with I wanted to on the routing tag a step 50 would be added for the production scheduler to put in rework or sent to stores. Now we were working smart. The shelves for the different rework parts became lean as we evaluated out pool shelves and what was in rework and finished parts in stock. If parts were getting low we would bring back a part in stores sign off the 50 scheduler step and put in rework
We were working smart. Turn times on engines were cut in half working along with the programmer. In the routining of a certain part had a long turn time we could adjust the due date to earlier date to be ready for build. With the new scheduling system. We could manually put in all the part numbers needed for this build and the system would find the closest part according to do date and assign and lock that part to the schedule date due. If we needed a part from contract and warranty. Through this system they were notified. This was working to a time line and working smart

I was given an excellence Award for the pool shelves. But then the shirts and ties came in a man got on top of a table and informed us they were shutting down Atlanta. We were to gather our belongings and leave. Take a packed on the counter that pertains to you and vacate now. I was scheduling. Stop gathered my things walked out that front door never to return. It was a complete shock. It was like the walking Zombies. Everyone in total shock. This evolved the planes in the Hanger for rework. Pack up and leave. We didn’t see this coming. The man that told us to leave was very unprofessional it was like no big deal to him. You see Minnesota never like Atlanta. It used to be Southern Airlines we were better and faster with quality work more so then them
So I picked up my husband who also worked for NWA and went home to our 12 year old son. I had the time with the company but not old enough. I had to bump to MSP for 3 years
My husband only had 12 years Senority so he didn’t have the time to bump. I left fo Minnesota 2 days after Christmas. I left my son behind because the other children accepted him as he had an auto immune disease. He had no hair. He was very popular and an awesome Christian. He needed to stay with his peers. That was a awful Christmas.
