Los Angeles, CA
08.2019 - Current
My current role is to Manager ISD Audio & Video Live Broadcast for the Board of Supervisors (BOS) public hearing.
Work directing with Executive Office leadership team to implement and test a myriad of remote teleconference solutions.
Deployed both software and hardware solutions to ensure the BOS were in compliance with the Brown Act, which allowed the Supervisors to remotely conduct their weekly public hearings, daily News Pandemic Press meetings, Public and Union Townhall meetings, and Emergency Health Notifications.
Deploy Cisco hardware and software solutions which address and allowed Dr. Ferrer and Dr. Ghaly to host Health Conferences and provide daily briefings to the BOS, the public and State officials.
The technologies we used to accomplish various assignments for these public meetings, briefings, and conferences are WebEx, Vbrick, Zoom, DX80, SX80, Cisco Codec Pro, Room Kit Plus, Cisco WebEx Board 55, Spark Room Kit Codec, Cisco Quad Camera, and Room Kit Mini.
I was tasked to stand up a daily News Conference for BOS and the Emergency Operation Center (EOC). We faced additional technical issues with the challenge of mobile broadcasting between two locations, the Hall of Administration (HOA) and the EOC, as the Sheriff wanted to host the daily briefing from the EOC but the BOS wanted to host from HOA. After presenting the technical equipment needed to support two remote news conferences, along with the personnel needed for each location, plus a summary budget projected over a two-month time period, the decision was made to have both meetings hosted at HOA.
The broadcast system that I selected was based on two factors: the need to support a daily location change, and the flexibility to be set up and ready to broadcast in 15 minutes or less. These two factors determined my decision to work with a local vendor to establish a daily support team that would allow broadcasts of Special Events for the LA County BOS.
