Took an online class for 6 months. The API 1104 course. Through SI CERTS. Fully paid on my own. Learned about the modules in each of the 3 sections . The Fundamentals . The Practical and the Code book. The fundamentals from ; Welding inspection Certification, Safe practices for welding inspectors, Metal joining Processes, Metal properties and Destructive testing, Weld joints and Welding symbols, Metallurgy and Base metal discontinuities and a few other subjects.
The Practical part was about learning how to use a Code Book in different scenarios and on hands work With molded coupons that had different discontinuities on the coupons. Learning how to make and use a Welding Procedure and Qualifying a Welder.
