Commendations

National Defense Medal

• It was awarded to every member of the U.S. Armed Forces who served during any one of four specified periods of armed conflict or national emergency from June 27, 1950 through December 31, 2022.

Enlisted Submarine Warfare Insignia

• It is awarded to prospective submariners who complete an extensive qualification process that lasts about one year (for both enlisted and officers, though the two programs differ significantly) and covers all of the submarine's systems.

Navy Diver Insignia

• The diver insignia are qualification badges of the uniformed services of the United States which are awarded to servicemen qualified as divers.

Navy Expeditionary Medal

• The medal will be awarded, to the officers and enlisted men of the Navy who shall have actually landed on foreign territory and engaged in operations against armed opposition.

Meritorious Unit Citation

• The Navy MUC is awarded by the Secretary of the Navy, Chief of Naval Operations, or Commandant of the Marine Corps to any unit of the Navy or Marine Corps that has distinguished itself, under combat or non-combat conditions, by either valorous or meritorious achievement, which renders the unit outstanding compared to other units performing similar service, but not sufficient to justify award of the Navy Unit Commendation.

Navy Achievement Medal

• Awarded for "Meritorious service or achievement in either combat or noncombat situations based on sustained performance or specific achievement of a superlative nature but which does not warrant a Commendation Medal or higher."

Sea Service Deployment Ribbon (2)

• The Sea Service Deployment Ribbon is granted to any member of the U.S. Navy or U.S. Marine Corps assigned to a deployable unit (e.g., a ship (including submarines), aircraft squadron, air wing or air group, detachment, battalion, Marine Expeditionary Unit, Marine Air Ground Task Force, or other unit type that operates away from its assigned homeport) and is forward-deployed for a period of either 90 consecutive days or two periods of at least 80 days each within a given 12-month period; or 6 months stationed overseas in a forward deployed location.

Presidential Unit Citation

• The Presidential Unit Citation (PUC), originally called the Distinguished Unit Citation, is awarded to units of the uniformed services of the United States, and those of allied countries, for extraordinary heroism in action against an armed enemy on or after 7 December 1941 (the date of the Attack on Pearl Harbor and the start of American involvement in World War II). The unit must display such gallantry, determination, and esprit de corps in accomplishing its mission under extremely difficult and hazardous conditions so as to set it apart from and above other units participating in the same campaign.

Coast Guard Special Operations Ribbon

• The Commandant of the Coast Guard has also periodically authorized award of the Special Operations Service Ribbon to certain warships, aviation squadrons and other selected units of the U.S. Navy, primarily for support of USCG-led counter-narcotics (CN) and drug interdiction operations and to U.S. Navy and U.S. Air Force units assisting in search-and-rescue and/or natural disaster operations in partnership with the U.S. Coast Guard.

Good Conduct Medal (2)

• The current Navy Good Conduct Medal is issued to every active duty enlisted sailor who completes three years of honorable and faithful service since 1 January 1996. For prior awards to personnel between 1 November 1963 and 1 January 1996, four years of service were required.

A network may include a variety of disparate devices. For example, a home network may include a
wide variety of devices such as personal computing devices including desk-top computers, laptop
computers, mobile telephones, and gaming devices. In addition, a variety of home appliances, such
as thermostats, refrigerators, washing machines, ovens, toasters, lights, sprinkler systems, or other
devices may also be able to connect to the network. Such network-connected devices may be referred
to as “smart” devices or “Internet of Things” devices. The devices may be subject to a variety of
different vulnerabilities, e.g., a weakness or security flaw that a party may exploit with potentially
harmful results.
