Safety\Permit Writer
8 Months- Job duties included but was not limited to:
- Conducted in-depth pre-approval environmental inspections in confined spaces before work could be initiated.

QC Industrial Inspector
4 Months- Involves carefully examining industrial items for any signs of defect or deviations from established standards. This can include things like cracks, dents, scratches, discoloration, corrosion or other visual imperfections. Industrial visual inspection is a critical quality control process that uses human observations either directly or with tools to detect defects or inconsistencies in manufactures products, equipment or infrastructure.
Process Operator
1 Year 2 Months- As an Acetone Cyanohyrin (ACH) Operator my daily duties are as follows: Making morning and noon time rounds, taking samples from reactor, stripper, product, and storage, then running them in the lab to be sure the ph levels are accurate to specification. Blending PTZ in a mixer, operating sulfuric acid pumps in the acid unit and I also operate the ammonia frick compressors. As well as writing out permits to contractors as needed throughout my shift along with a host of other things.
Safety Representative
3 Years 8 Months- Conduct Brock new hire orientation reviewing Citgo’s site specific and Brock’s policies and procedures. Attending daily toolbox talks, perform daily supervisor audits and safety observations, provide continual field safety support identifying unsafe actions, conditions, and behaviors. Coach employees on informative JSA’s, assist Citgo safety on mitigating hazards in the work area, conduct Brock annual and craft specific training. Identify root cause analysis and common factors on workplace incidents, audit and assist with Citgo E Permit system, provide mentorship and resources to Front Line Supervision so they become effective leaders and mentors to the Brock craft, encourage and acknowledge employee’s Stop Work Responsibility. Supports Brock’s “Tell Me” And “Stop the Drop” programs, assist in Human Machine Interface assessments, creates a working atmosphere that promotes a high level of enthusiasm and good morale in the field.
Outside Production Operator (Ethane/Propane Cracking Heater Unit)
7 Years 1 Month- Safely operating two styles of cracking heaters the SWEC and Lummus heaters. I’m involved in doing burner surveys, collecting boiler feed water samples as needed by the lab and switching the charge from “propane to ethane” or vice versa. Decoking heaters (taking offline) while bringing a heater back online from high steam standby. Also, “Shooting Skins” (which is retracting the temperature of the heater inside tubing system), performing lock-out/tag-out procedure when blind must be installed by maintenance and a host of many other duties needed to be performed.
- As a Qualified Compressor Outside Operator, I assist the operation of caustic, steam turbines/electric motors, running lab samples, dealing with compressor hot well dreams, along with a host of other things. Also, being Qualified as a Distillation Outside Operator as well, I deal with numerous regeneration dryers and methanol beds, hydrogen dryers and refinery fuel dryers. This also involves DCS controls where the outside operator control moves for the board.
Production Operator (Offshore Platform)
2 Years 8 Months- Duties included but not limited to: Operating a large, complex area of automated or semi-automated plant equipment. Production wells, regulated wells, levels, pressures, temperatures, and other variables to maintain efficient operations. Meeting and establishing oil and natural gas to production specifications and overseeing construction obligation.
Safety Representative
3 Months- Conducting morning safety meetings, overlooking “JSA” (Job Safety Analysis) Program. Obeying the “Clean Air and Clean Water Acts of the USA. Performing Safety audits and educating employees as needed. Overseeing employee drug Screening as needed under “DOT” drug screening policies. Abiding “DOT” Regulation, as well as “EPA” regulation.
Safety Representative
7 Months- Safety Representative for new construction of Coker Unit. Conducted morning safety meetings, weekly safety audits and accident reporting. Overseeing the “JSA” (Job Safety Analysis), observing workers onsite etc. Testing the breathing atmosphere of confined spaces before workers entered.
Industrial Hygienist
2 Months- Monitoring air quality for violent organic compounds (VOC’s). Taking air Samples on an hourly basis emailing the readings to BP and other locations around the world for reading and documentation. Keeping the captain and crew of the motor vessel Skandi Neptune well informed of the air quality.
“A” Mechanic Insulator/Fabricator/Safety Representative
1 Year 7 Months- Conducted safety audits to identify risks and ensure compliance with industry regulations.
- Developed and implemented safety training programs for new employees, enhancing awareness and preparedness.
