Shadowed pathologists’ assistants and pathology resident trainees within the Surgical Pathology Department.

• Observed grossing of various specimens (those from biopsies, mastectomies, and hysterectomies ranked among the most common).
• Walked through the steps of the frozen section procedure.
• Offered adjacent Histology Laboratory Tour.
• Introduced to the cooperative aspects between lab personnel (PAs assisting each other, aid from surgeons, etc.).

Student organization that actively participates in community programs and cultivates two student-built gardens on-campus.

Organized a landscaping-based service project on a 20 year old plot of land. This consisted of the following:

• Necessitating months of planning and financing.
• Replacing damp landscape timber bordering the perimeter.
• Replacing mulch within the perimeter with landscaping rock.
• Leading a number of needed volunteers to help with tasks.
