I have a passion for providing safe and aesthetically pleasing spaces for people to enjoy. I have over fifteen years experience in leading work crews in this profession, and enjoy doing so.
A Park Maintenance Technician II is the journey level classification within the Park Maintenance series. Under general supervision I perform a variety of routine skilled and semi-skilled duties in the repair and maintenance of parks and grounds. Some of these duties include, but are not limited to mowing, trimming, aerating, fertilizing, and seeding, as well as the installation, maintenance, and repair of irrigation systems, and the mixing and application of herbicides. In addition to the afore mentioned duties a Maintenance Tech II is expected to operate vehicles and equipment with skill and safety. I also do park and playground inspections to identify any possible problems that may arise, and am the safety trainer for the maintenance crew.
As a Park Maintenance Worker I performed essentially the same duties as a Maintenance Technician with the addition of trail/open space maintenance and being the supervisor to various work crews. The size of these crews averaged from 3 to as many as 15 people.
