  • Developed new methods for evaluation and certification of hard disk drive manufacturing processes for ESD safety and compliance.
  • Wrote new and updated existing standards and procedures for manufacturing tooling and processes.
  • Developed new standards and specifications for ESD safe tooling and process fixtures through laboratory testing and evaluation of damage thresholds.
  • Conducted customer audits to new standards in multiple sites in Asia including China, Japan, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Korea, and the Philippines.
  • Raised component supplier yields by 5% to 8% over a 6-month timeframe through implementation of new material technologies and handling methods, during a period of time when 1% in yield had an approximate value to HDD component companies of >$10,000,000 USD per quarter.
  • Provided the manufacturing solution for a factory yield issue through implementation of ESD ceramic materials.
  • Yields prior to implementation were varied from 30% to 90% due to the unpredictable damage mechanism and rose to over 99% after implementation of my solution.
  • Program development cost was >$120,000,000 USD, and the program would have been shelved if my solution was not implemented.
