With over 40 years of experience, including a pivotal role at GSM Industrial, I've mastered building and ground maintenance, excelling in inventory control and water treatment. Known for enhancing operational efficiency and fostering workplace safety, my proactive approach and adeptness at equipment management have significantly contributed to organizational success.
Took care of machines, cranes, building maintenance, ran tow motors, Ran the fire pump monthly, organized fire extinguisher inspection yearly. Then after 17 years was given the position as Inventory Control Coordinator after my knee surgery ( The knee was hurt on the job.) I could not crawl around on the floor anymore.
I then ordered supplies: gloves, helmets, tools, grinding wheels, welding equipment, etcetera. It was told to me to keep the TOOL ROOM locked at all times when I was not there, and they had placed a camera inside the toolroom also.
It turned out that a hand full of shop workers were not happy with the set up, and did not like being watched while checking out equipment. After 9 months of this position, the complaining grew.
There for the head personnel left me go with a severance.
I started as a machine operator running a machine that bleached all the cloth for clothing. As the years went on, I learned how to run most of the machines there.
My last 10 years there I was given a position in water treatment operator where I worked with chemicals to distract the die from the water before the water was discharged to the Ephrata TWP. I drove tow motor there an ran boilers also. Being part of the safety comity, I ran the Fire pump weekly, and tested fire hoses throughout the building.
The doors were closing after 25 years there, that's when I joined GSM Industrial.
