Summary

As an independent school administrator, I believe in building cultures of dignity where every student and employee can find their pathway to belonging. Currently, I work with students and teachers on the development of communication and social-emotional skills that will help them build strong connections. My approach to student life emphasizes creating inclusive environments where individuals feel valued, supported, and empowered to contribute authentically to our community. Through intentional programming and relationship-building, I foster spaces where students and teachers develop the resilience, empathy, and interpersonal competencies essential for both academic success and lifelong success.

Lead Educator

Alexander Dawson School
01.2021 - 05.2022
  • As a primary teacher my main objectives are creating lesson plans that follow the approved curriculum. Social and emotional learning are also priorities of our learning community as they strengthen confidence and communication in our students. Effective communication with parents is also a primary function of my responsibilities. I communicate with parents about the successes, opportunities, and if necessary, their students' challenges. I continuously maintain a self empowering atmosphere for the classroom in addition to teaching lessons of tolerance and respect.

Lead Engineering Teacher

Dawson College Bound
01.2017 - 01.2019
  • Dawson's College Bound was a program provided by the Alexander Dawson Foundation for students of all demographics throughout the Las Vegas valley. It was based on nurturing and developing high achieving students from all of the CCSD middle schools. My role in the program was to create and execute a project based learning curriculum that would challenge students with hands-on experiences that engaged and provided students with invaluable takeaway lessons. My classes focused on STEM and Mechanical Engineering for 6th and 7th grade students. In addition to my teaching responsibilities, I assisted the director with site supervision, student issues, and elective course development.

Site Director

Boys and Girls Club of Nevada
01.2013 - 01.2015
  • As Site Director my responsibilities were ever-growing. I was the point of contact for both BGCLV & ADSRM admin as well as the 5 staff members under my direction. I implemented after school programs and led the After Care program successfully. My team and I were always on the same page therefore the need for "micromanaging" was inconsequential. Constant clear communication with parents' is key when relaying positive and constructive feedback.
