I did not grow up in the church. At the age of 9 I was introduced to the concept of God through a Christian aunt. Soon after that "encounter" my parents thought it best to get the family started into church. I received Christ through the ministry of a small Baptist church located in Upland, California. I grew there in my faith and answered the call to vocational ministry at that church as well. God continued to confirm His call to me through my involvement as a leader in the youth program there at that church as well as subsequent confirmations through leadership roles at Mt. Hermon camp and conference center in Santa Cruz, California as well as Forest Home camp and conference center located in southern California. In 1979 my younger brother was killed in a car accident by a drunk driver. It was at that time that God cemented my heart with the desire for the pastorate. If I was going to spend the next 40-50 years of my life doing something, it needed to count for eternity.

• Senior Pastor, Christ's Church of the Canyon, Wrightwood, California, 2012, current, Preaching responsibilities (three times per week) with other teaching responsibilities as needed, Pastoral care responsibilities including hospital visits, home visitations, and general pastoral care counseling, Lead and mentor the ministry leadership and ministry directors in regards to the development of the annual budget; personnel decisions; capital fund campaigns as well as the overall governance of the church which includes program, training, and policy issues as well as all business facets of the organization, Oversee two paid personnel as well as approximately 45 volunteer staff
• Senior Associate Pastor, Morning Star Community Church, Salem, Oregon, 2006, 2012, Established and oversaw proven assimilation/outreach strategies; developed, staffed, and implemented systems that led to effective assimilation which ultimately led to disciple-making and more consistent attendance., Oversaw and developed the men's program. Included discipling volunteer leadership, bi-annual men's conferences (one specifically geared towards law enforcement and corrections outreach); annual men's retreat with nationally acclaimed speakers; river rafting trips; motorcycle trips; discipleship and accountability groups (Men's Fraternity), Established, oversaw, implemented direction, and brought excellence to the adult education program. Taught a weekly adult class with approximately 40-50 in attendance; developed training processes for adult volunteer leaders including community groups, men's programs, family programs, and adult programs. Established new adult education programs and classes including financial accountability (Financial Peace University), marriage enrichment, various Bible study classes, grief counseling, and Biblical ethics (The Truth Project), Designed and implemented an overall small group program.
