Retired English Teacher looking for a flexible schedule that still has students in it. I am a trained writing teacher through several different writing programs. My best feature as a teacher is working individually with students on their writing and communication skills.
I am creative, fun, and love teaching students who embrace learning.

Attended many professional development seminars at The AP Institute, UConn ECE, Bard College Institute for Writing and Thinking, CT Writing Project, and several on-line Universities.
Utilized necessary technology to enhance lessons: zoom, google classroom, prezi, screencastify, and website design such as Word Press.
Cultivated relationships with students, parents, and counselors in an effort to achieve student success.
Wrote with my students in order to model the writing process.
Taught tenth grade, twelfth grade, AP Language and Composition, AP Literature and Composition, ECE UConn 1011- Writing Seminar through Literature, ECE Maritime Studies, Creative Writing and Poetry Workshop, and Speech and Communication for Three Rivers Community College.
Attended the Connecticut Writing Project and The Advanced Writing Project. Served on the Board 2001-2002.
Graduated from the Munson Institute at the Mystic Seaport and received the Orion Award for excellence in teaching Maritime Studies.

And Sasamani Education Foundation 2012-2022.
I have several novels and a book of poetry that I have been working on for many years.
I'd like to have time to finish these projects and hopefully publish.
