Passionate Union Representative with AFSCME Council 57, skilled in collective bargaining negotiation, grievance handling, and organizing. Advocated for worker rights, increasing benefits and building strong member relationships. Expert in training development, empowering members through workshops, and 1:1 role play to increase union involvement. Ability to mediate disputes and achieve favorable outcomes for all parties involved. Educating members to build power and strength within union to win.
While I was a rank and file leader, I was placed on union leave as a project organizer for CSEA. My sole responsibilities were training member leaders on how to have a 1:1 to engage and motivate member leaders to gain power within the union, and the statewide campaign we were working on to win. The campaign received an award from California Labor Federation for best campaign in 2010. I have completed training from Marshal Ganz, based on his Harvard college course on how to organize, by using the resources we have to get what we want.
