
Registered Nurse for 22 years and nursing leadership for 12 of those years working in a variety of areas such as communicable disease, immunizations, and maternal and child health. Supervised six public health nurses within communicable disease team and three public health nurses alongside two community health workers in tuberculosis team from February 2021 until July 2024. Currently oversee four public health nurses and two community health workers in tuberculosis team.
Managed the county's on-call system from February 2021 until December 2024. In collaboration with two other counties, contracted on-call services with a third party vendor.

May 2014-June 2019: Supervised three PHNs, three Communicable Disease Specialists (CDS), and one Community Health Aide (CHA) in the Communicable Disease (CD), Tuberculosis (TB), Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI), Immunization (IZ), HIV, and Lead programs. Served as the CD Controller for the county, completed disease investigation, coordinated outbreak control and contact investigations. Worked in collaboration with the county’s Epidemiologist to manage outbreaks and data collection. Represented nursing in the Public Health Emergency Preparedness (PHEP) Program. Developed policies and procedures and all forms to be used by the public health nurses in preparation for an emergency evacuation shelter. In coordination with Sacramento State University School of Nursing, coordinated, developed and lead trainings for public health nurses. Served as preceptor for nursing students completing their public health rotation, served as the Board of Registered Nursing (BRN) Continuing Education provider, and helped coordinate and run back-to-school IZ clinics.
February 2020-October 2020: Served as a lead nursing role in current COVID-19 pandemic response. Operated in the Department Operations Center leading all case investigators and contact tracers for the county by leading daily briefing, responding to phone calls and emails, working alongside the epidemiology team and health officer, assisting with outbreaks in senior care facilities, assisting in swabbing in the community, and serving as the Knowledge Manager for creating and maintaining all guidelines and guidance documents for the case investigators and contact tracers.
July 2019-October 2020: Supervised six PHNs in the Maternal, Child, and Adolescent Health (MCAH) Program which included, the nurse home visitation program, Comprehensive Perinatal Services Program (CPSP), Fetal Infant Mortality Review (FIMR) program, Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) program, and the Family Support Project (FSP) program. Served as the MCAH Coordinator and Perinatal Services Coordinator (PSC). Lead weekly team meetings, planned and lead monthly case manager meetings, conducted monthly reflective 1:1 supervision, completed joint home visits with staff, performed quarterly QA/QI in online charting system Nightingale Notes, participated in collaborative meetings with community partners, worked with the MCAH Director/Director of Nursing to complete the annual AFA and annual reports. Developed and implemented new policies and procedures for the MCAH program.
October 2020-January 2021: Supervise a total of 15 employees including Public Health Nurses (PHNs – I, II, and Senior) and Eligibility Specialists (II and Supervising) in Children’s Medical Services (CMS) which includes the California Children Services (CCS), Child, Health and Disability Program (CHDP), and Foster Care Program. CMS coordinates medical services for children with certain diseases, and medical and dental services for children and foster children of qualifying families. Also work closely with the county’s Medical Therapy Unit (MTU) for children requiring medically based physical therapy and occupational therapy.
Prenatal Plus Program/HOPE Program
Restarted and redesigned the nurse home visitation program. Managed a caseload of 20+ clients, which included treatment, planning, teaching and counseling of high-risk pregnant women and teenagers, mothers, fathers, children and other family members in the home. Performed regular clinical nursing prenatal, postpartum, newborn, well child, well woman assessments, prenatal, postpartum and developmental screenings and made necessary referrals to medical care providers and/or early intervention. Helped assist the nurse practitioner in the reproductive health clinic by aiding with female and male exams, STI testing and treatment, placement of long-term birth control, and providing client education. Participated in employee flu clinics, back-to-school immunization clinics, farmer’s markets, and 9Health Fair.
Adams County Mothers First Program
Managed a caseload of 25+ clients, which included treatment, planning, teaching, and counseling of high-risk pregnant women and teenagers, mothers, fathers, children and other family members in the home. Performed regular clinical nursing prenatal, postpartum, newborn, well child, well women assessments and prenatal, postpartum and developmental screenings and made necessary referrals to outside providers. Precepted nursing students. Participated in Nurse Competency Team, Domestic Violence Team, and Nursing Division Meeting Team.
Triaged incoming patient phone calls for a busy gastrointestinal doctor’s office requiring nursing advice. Provided patient education, managed patients with ongoing chronic GI issues, and consulted with doctors as necessary.
Provided direct patient care on a transplant/medicine subspecialties floor. Assessed patients, administered medications, and performed clinical tasks as assigned. Precepted nursing students and trained newly hired nurses. Served as the backup charge nurse as needed.
