During course selection for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year, I have volunteered by helping hundreds of students from various grade levels from 8th to 11th select their courses. My duties were comprised of sorting, assembling, and distributing the necessary paperwork for students to choose classes for the upcoming school year, ensured each student had the necessary courses to graduate, had the recommended courses to stand out to colleges, and also I provided assistance to students who sought help enrolling in STEAM pathway courses as well.
I aided in their autumn festival by volunteering in their haunted house as an actor. The duration of my volunteering occupied two days. The first day was comprised of designing costumes & the set with other volunteers and learning cues. On the second day, I and other actors spent several hours spooking continuous groups passing through. Each day was a completely new experience for me and other volunteers cooperating to ensure a frightening experience for guests.
I assisted in their silent disco night event, where I served treats such as pizza, nachos, and also refreshments. I interacted with various age groups, from young children to older adults and seniors. I was volunteering alongside other high schoolers my age and parents lending a hand as well.
The club I was a part of was the Diamond Day Leader Team. Our clubs focuses were on empathy, support, and connecting with others. The club revolved primarily around our main event, Diamond Day. The event would last from 7 to 4, beginning before school and ending slightly after. Where during the first half of this event we create a fun & warm environment allowing people to get comfortable and enjoy the event's games and interact with other participants. The second half of the event shifts to a supportive, uplifting environment where participants are encouraged to acknowledge and share trauma, pain, and the tolls life takes on us. We held several large events for all grade levels to partake in.
Since middle school, I have volunteered for their spring, autumn, and winter events they host each year. Our base responsibilities included setting up stands, distributing prizes, and interacting with PTA, staff, and families. Beyond that, I took it upon myself to help teachers and adult volunteers clean up by disassembling stands and decorations. I have coordinated with and provided support to others who are newer to volunteering than I am.
