Construction professional bringing valuable experience from large corporate construction sites, as well as residential home repair projects. I owned my own construction company for most of my career and retired early in life. After a short retirement and due to still needing to have purpose every day I went to work for one of the largest construction cooperate entities world wide. As a Regional PM as well as the National APM I ran construction activities on multiple Air Force and Army Facilities. I still feel the need to bring my skill set forward on a daily basis and enjoy the challenges each day brings.
I Oversaw construction activities on 11 Privatized military housing facilities. We started With the initial IDP which involved all new construction activities. IE building new Community Centers with pools and play grounds as well as neighborhood centers and Maintenance facilities. There were other activities as well we completed 44 miles of walking paths, dog parks, and a 120,000SF storage facility. After the IDP we moved to sustainment work which involved replacing windows, doors, roofs, siding, HVAC, etc. My role was to help develop budget in each area to determine how big each bases scope of work would be to propose to the government to release funding. Once funding was released and agreed upon we could start to reach out to contractor for hard bids. My next step was to develop scopes of work for each individual project. Once we had contractors under contract I would work with the onsite superintendent to develop a schedule. After the contractor started i reviewed all billing approved or disapproved all change orders and tracked their AIA billings and do day to day troubleshooting.
I was owner operator of my own construction company. I primarily worked for my self flipping homes and rehabbing self rental properties. although during slow times I would take on work both commercial and residential to keep my workforce going. In 2011 after the Minot flood we acquired many homes and flipped approximately 200 homes, that with the large amount of rentals i hade bought and rehabbed over the years I decided to sell all to an investment firm. At the same time i sold my construction side to the employees and retired.
