
Responsibilities
· This role involves preparing, coating, and inspecting metal components to meet production and quality standards
· Prepare metal surfaces for powder coating, including cleaning, sanding, and masking as necessary
· Operate powder coating equipment to apply powder coatings to metal parts and assemblies
· Monitor the curing process to ensure optimal coating performance and adherence
· Inspect coated products for uniformity, coverage, and defects, making necessary adjustments
· Maintain and clean powder coating equipment and booth to ensure proper operation and longevity
· Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment
· Collaborate with other team members to meet production schedules and quality standards
· Record and report production data, including material usage and process parameters
· Assist with troubleshooting and resolving issues with coating processes and equipment
· Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance process efficiency and product quality
Job duties:
-Apply coats of paint, varnish, stain, enamel, or lacquer to decorate and protect interior or exterior surfaces, trimmings, and fixtures of buildings other structures
- Read work order or receives instructions from supervisor or homeowner regarding painting
- Smooth surfaces, using sandpaper, brushes, or steel wool and removes old paint from surfaces, using paint remover, scraper, wire brush, or blowtorch to prepare surfaces for painting
- Fill nail holes, cracks, and joints with caulk, putty, plaster, or other filler, using caulking gun putty knife
-Select premixed paints, or mixes required portions of pigment, oil, and thinning drying substances to prepare paint that matches specified colors
-Spread drop cloths over floors and room furnishings, and covers surfaces, like baseboards, door frames, and windows with masking tape paper to protect surfaces during painting
- Paint surfaces, using brushes, spray gun, or paint rollers
- Simulate wood grain, marble, brick, or tile effects
- Apply paint with cloth, brush, sponge, or fingers to create special effects
- Erect scaffolding or sets up ladders to perform tasks above ground level
Job duties:
-Filling of joints, cracks and holes with fillers as caulk, putty, plaster or other necessary fillers using hand tools like putty knives or caulking guns.
-Surface preparation using tools as sandpapers, brushes, sanding machines, scrapers and wool.
-Surface coverage using drop cloths, plastic, masking tape, paper to protect area during the painting process.
-Use/operating of swing stages, aerial lifts, HVLP spraying equipment, pneumatic spray texture gun and spray gun.
-Follow instructions from supervisor or client regarding the job requirements that needs to be accomplished.
-Microsoft office software which includes word, excel, Etc.
-Use of primers and sealers on surfaces like wood, drywall, metal, concrete for finishing coating
