I have a deep academic interest in researching and writing about the historical intersections of educational racial disparities and the role of federal power in shaping educational policy. My research examines the evolution of segregation in American education, the impact of landmark Supreme Court decisions, and the federal government's involvement in enforcing civil rights within public education. Additionally, I have a strong scholarly focus on the plight of African Americans in the South from the Reconstruction era through the modern Civil Rights movements. This includes studying the systemic disenfranchisement, violence, and economic challenges African Americans faced, as well as their resilience and the strategies employed to combat racial oppression. My work delves into how federal intervention, from Reconstruction to the Civil Rights Acts, influenced African Americans' access to education, social mobility, and political rights. Through my research, I aim to contribute to a nuanced understanding of how historical federal policies and grassroots activism have shaped both modern educational inequities and the broader struggle for racial justice in the United States.
