I would describe my self as a very compassionate, hard working, and reliable caregiver and team member.
I enjoy my career as a CNA as I build relationships with patients/ family members and help them through, what can be, a difficult time. As I further my career in getting my registered nursing degree, I look forward to expanding my knowledge in other healthcare settings.
I am currently working at Aurora Medical Center Grafton as a certified nursing assistant. I have been working on an inpatient medical surgical unit that focuses more on patients that have diagnosis dealing with cardiology and neurology since 2021. I have also helped on other units throughout the hospital such as the ICU and other medical surgical units.
These are some skills I use during each of my shifts;
As a personal caregiver to two young children with special needs, I assisted them with daily tasks in the morning after their mother left for work. This included; dressing and grooming assistance, medication distribution, and assistance with breakfast. After taking them to school, I assisted the mother with house chores including; cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation.
I worked at New Frontiers Preschool as a lead teacher where I worked as the main teaching role in a classroom with two and three year old children.
Daily, I would follow the lessons my two other assistant teachers and I would plan prior that would include reading, math, art, and science depending on each individual childs development stage.
Throughout each day I would use these skills;
I worked as a child care provider at the YMCA, where parents were able to drop off their children while they wanted to workout or participate in activities provided at the YMCA.
